Upcycling!
Having done quite a bit of wardrobe purging this spring, I put aside those that were not stained or riddled with holes. My little one needed some new t-shirts for an upcoming vacation, and as always, was put off by what's in store for boys. I decided to make some shirts which would prevent the waste of the old, and reduce the use of new materials.
The striped fabric was from an old turtleneck and the red yoke was from my scrap bin. Always save your scraps...you never know!
The striped sleeves were also from the turtleneck and the blue was selvage from an old project.
The green striped fabric was from an old tank top that lost a strap, and the blue was from an old t-shirt that had a hole...they have found new life in this cute little tee!
A graphic tee that had seen better days.
The green sleeves are from an old t-shirt that had one too many holes. The truck fabric is part of a collection I designed here, on spoonflower.com.
So never, never toss out ratty clothes. Make new from the old! Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle!
On a side note, clearly I need to do some sewing for myself since I seem to have so many stained and holey clothes!
